The Beginning
Due to poor construction and overgrowing root structures, the retaining wall close to the house was beginning to fall over. Additionally, the other two walls in the yard were beginning to show signs of failure. Our client was concerned with the overall look, but also with risk of some getting hurt.
The Plan
Our plan was to remove everything and start with a clean slate. By doing so, we could confidently put our stamp of approval on the entire project. Our clients requested a similar layout, so we put our focus on material selection, plant design, lighting and the use of boulders to improve the space. Also included in the project was removing an island from the front yard, which consisted of a small retaining wall and a mature maple tree.
